Biffie's name is short for Bifidobacteria.
Bifidobacteria is a bacteria or tiny organism, who lives inside your gut. The gut is made up of tubes that connect your mouth to your butt. Isn't it crazy to know that you have tiny little organisms living inside you!?! Think of them like your cute little pets that you help take care of and they help keep you safe.
Biffie and his trillions of friends are helpful bacteria. Biffie is a very popular bacteria. These helpful bacteria help fight off bad gut invaders. Feeding Biffie and his friends will give them the strength to keep the bad gut invaders out.
What should you feed Biffie to keep him and his friends strong? Fiber.
Eating lots of Fiber, will help Biffie and his friends stay strong and grow in number. Fiber is the part of plants that your body cannot breakdown well, but Biffie and his friends love to break down fiber and turn it into gas. Oh yes, I am talking about CO2 gas or farts. Farting is totally normal, and if you don't fart at all, then your gut may not be working well. So feed Biffie and his friends to make sure that your army of helpful gut bacteria is strong.
